The Justice Court of Laughlin is one of eight Justice Courts within Clark County.

Established by the Nevada State Law, NRS 4.020, which says, “There must be one justice court in each…” of the state’s townships that are presided over by a justice of the peace elected by the township.

Collectively, the courts foster common law as they work towards improving service.

Common law also called “case law,” is law developed by judges, courts, and other tribunals and is distributed in decisions which decide the cases.

Common law is in contrast to statutes which are adopted through the legislative procedure and regulations promulgated by Nevada’s executive branch.
